The Raintree Hotel was abuzz with activity on the 3rd April, for ‘Chiyan’ Vikram and the crew of Deiva Thirumagan were there to formally unveil the first look of the film. Vikram, director AL Vijay, cinematographer Nirav Shah, music director GV Prakash, veteran actor Nasser and producer Mohan Natarajan were present at the unveiling.
The producer opened the curtains to the title “Deiva Thirumagan” putting rest to the million speculations surrounding the title. It was first Deiva Magan and then Pitha and now finally the title has been registered as Deiva Thirumagan. Two teasers and one trailer featuring Vikram were released by Nirav Shah, GV Prakash and Vikram respectively.
The elated producer Mohan Natarajan expressed his happiness to have produced such a good film and said that he is proud to have done it. He also mentioned that this film has one of the finest cast and crew ever seen. He praised Vikram and said that he has performed unbelievably well and urged the audience to watch the film for sure in theatres.
Music director GV Prakash said, “This is the first project where I have worked alongside actor Vikram but I have worked with the director before. He is as usual very enterprising and has done a great job in this film. Vikram’s performance is excellent and enjoyable. The film gives lot of scope for music and re-recording, I am having a great time doing the re-recording and watching Vikram’s performance”
Veteran actor Nasser who has a meaty role praised Vikram for having understood the concept and given a great performance. He also said that this movie belongs to Vijay and Vikram for they both have worked hard for this film. He praised Vijay for making the film with a good heart and bringing the best out of everyone. Last but not the least he mentioned that though it is hard to achieve star status it is even harder to sustain the position and that Vikram is able to do it only because he chooses performance oriented roles like in this film. He went on to say that this will be one of best movies in Vikram’s career. Nasser also had good words about the producer.
Overwhelmed by all the praises, Vikram spoke next. He said, “I enjoyed working in this movie. It was amazing and was like a holiday. There are times when you feel ‘why did the movie shooting get over?’ and that is exactly how I felt after the shooting of this film got over. But now I am excited about giving this splendid film to the audience. Vijay and Nirav Shah encouraged and helped me throughout the shoot to perform well. About GV Prakash, all I can say is his ‘Yathe Yathe’ is still in my play list. The talented musician has given us great songs and one of the songs will be a super hit for sure. Editor Anthony who has watched the film said that it has come out very well and that it will do well”.
“Nasser has an important character to play in this movie. I don’t think any other actor could play that role as well as he has done. Director Vijay told me that after seeing the climax he could not decide if Nasser or I have done better. I thank him for such praise and I think he has brought it out of us. Talking about Anushka, she is a glamour queen and a bombshell, but in this film her role is very different and meaty. She mixes comedy and acting and has done a great job with that. Amala Paul is a superb actress. Her role in Deiva Thirumagan is totally different from the one she played in Myna. After watching the movie audience will wonder if it is the same Amala they saw in Myna”.
“I am very happy to have worked in this film. The producer has been very understanding of the story and concept and never once had any creative issues. Director Vijay is like a child himself and I saw him and learnt to act in this movie. He helped me get into the skin of the character.”
The teaser trailer was played and we understand that Vikram plays the role of Krishna, a man with developmental disability. Seeing Vikram’s act in the trailer brought astounding applause from everyone present there and it is clear that none of them were exaggerating when they praised the actor for he totally deserves it. The movie now scores high on the expectation meter and it has all the potential to fetch Vikram a lot of awards.
